Originally celebrated as religious feasts, these were called 'festival days' till it got shortened to 'festivals'.

I look forward to these days with enthusiasm. Festivals help in breaking the monotony of life. They keep our legacy and stories alive. Festivals give us an opportunity to cook the traditional foods that we might not be able make the effort for, on normal days. It is the best time for friends and family to connect, rejoice and bond. Every festival we celebrate has meaning and purpose.

People also use these special days to spring clean their homes and decorate their walls with works of art like Warli, Madhubani, Pithora and more.

What is it about that one auspicious day and a moment I wonder? What is about festivals that spark so much joy? But then, with so much to be done, to bring in the festive season who has the time to ponder.
